Mavericks is set to go off tomorrow with the contest on. They are actually asking people not to go and watch. I wanted to take Kate to see the biggest wave spot in NorCal but it sounds like it will be a traffic jam unlike Half Moon Bay has seen outside of the annual pumpkin festival. Tuesday I am headed to Baja for a week of windsurfing. Really looking forward to getting back on a board. It will be weird going on a vacation with out Kate and Angela, but Angela is pretty sure I'll get used to it quickly (especially if it is windy). A photographer friend of mine who works with me at Crushpad has lent me a water proof camera that you can strap on your wrist so I am hoping to capture a few action shots to post on this site while I am away.

If you have never listened to Nina Simone or if it has been a while I encourage you to head straight to the nearest itunes and down load her greatest hits. I have had the song "sinnerman" stuck in my head for days now. The way she plays her voice in that song is incredible.

OK this is the second time I've entered this so if you see it twice you'll know. The website here is in French, go figure, and yes, they have a different word for everything..
I think it is great that your blog starts on the same day as the AL DH rule, which was a major correct move for MLB.
Forget Bush, OK I like the Pretenders, but I have to go with the AL.....

Hey Buddy (and Angela and Kate too),
Great to hear from you even though we keep missing our voice mails (that I usually instigate as your wife knows because I am the instigator)! Anyway, just wanted to add one clarifying point to your post. You might not know this about me, but I am a huge Pretenders fan. Got Pirate Radio (their box set) for Christmas (much to my wife's dismay as she can't stand Chrissie Hynde's voice - huh???) and I highly recommend it for any and all fans.
Anyway, The Pretenders were first formed in 1978, first record deal, video and live performance in 1979 and first album (The Pretenders) in January of 1980. I realize that I am splitting hairs but technically they debuted to the public in 1979.
HOpe that all is well and look forward to speaking to you voice to voice one day soon!
